Calala Island Walkthrough: Infinity Pool, Solar Power, Dining Area, Beach Activities
Justin Vacula of the Hurdy Gurdy Travel Podcast shares a detailed walking tour of Calala Island, Nicaragua, starting near the dining area and following the main sandy path toward the infinity pool, lunch area, and beach activities.
Along the way, he shows the island’s central service area, including the kitchen, laundry, well, and a solar-powered utility building that helps support electricity and Wi-Fi across the private island resort.
During the walkthrough, Justin points out coconuts overhead, blackbirds around the island, cultural pottery, natural materials built from island trees, and fenced solar panels that help power the property.
Reaching the quiet pool area, he highlights lounge chairs, umbrellas, a changing area and bathroom, a dock and boat access, and a small waterfall feature that uses recycled water. The tour continues through the covered lunch area, the volleyball setup, and the outdoor fitness equipment, while Justin reflects on the resort’s privacy, with only about 11 guests across six rooms.
